Job summary

Scantec seeks an experienced Engineer - Civil & Structural (Ground Engineering) / Tunnel Engineer for a major nuclear infrastructure project in Warrington. The role is permanent, site-based, and supports tunnelling design and underground infrastructure delivery within a highly regulated safety-focused environment.

You will work with Lead Engineers to deliver design, assessment and technical documentation, and ensure compliance with standards, governance and security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering with tunnelling experience.
• Experience in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear or energy.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical design and excavation support systems.

Responsibilities

• Support tunnelling and underground infrastructure design and assessment.
• Produce calculations, models, reports and design documentation.
• Develop design substantiation and technical justifications for governance requirements.
• Undertake feasibility assessments of tunnel construction methods.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and CDM 2015 obligations.
