Job summary

Scantec is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for a permanent, site-based role in Warrington, supporting a major nuclear infrastructure programme. You will deliver structural analysis, design and assessment across reinforced concrete, steel and civil infrastructure, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, familiarity with design codes, and eligibility for UK security clearance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing and assessing reinforced concrete, steel and civil structures.
• Knowledge of UK and international design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver structural engineering analysis, design and assessment for reinforced concrete, steel and civil infrastructure projects within the programme.
• Produce and review structural calculations, models, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Specify and design concrete mixes for reinforced concrete structures.
• Support development of design substantiation and technical documentation to meet project, regulatory and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction and safety teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Undertake structural assessments for normal, construction, environmental and extreme loading conditions, including seismic loading where required.
• Participate in design reviews, technical assurance activities and resolve engineering queries.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements and CDM 2015 obligations.
• Support effective management of technical interfaces across the wider programme.
