Job summary

British Engineering Services Group is seeking a Site Assistant for the XEIAD division to support rail and highways teams with de-vegetation and enabling work across the Network Rail Western Routes. Night shifts and travel may be required.

You will undertake vegetation and debris removal, fence and cladding reinstatement, dewatering of culverts, and ensure works comply with safety standards and the contract programme.

Qualifications

• Recent experience as an operative in a railway or site environment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

What will you be doing?

XEIAD is a specialist engineering inspection consultancy delivering high-quality inspections and assessments on critical infrastructure assets. Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges, tunnels and culverts, providing reliable insight to help asset owners manage risk and maintain safety.

As a Site Assistant for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will support the rail and highways teams with all de-vegetation and enabling work requirements. You will also:

• Undertake works such as:
• Vegetation removal
• Debris removal
• Fence removal & reinstatement
• Cladding removal & reinstatement
• Chamber removal & reinstatement
• Dewatering of culverts & CCTV Examinations.â¯â¯â¯
• Deliver works safely and in accordance with the Contract Specification and programme of works. Ensuring that the team follow the Company Process & Procedures whilst adhering to the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Standards
• Recent experience as an operative in a railway or site environment
• Full UK driving licence
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships

You must also be flexible to work across the Network Rail Western Routes, including travel and occasional work away from home. You must also be prepared to work nightshifts and weekends.
