Job summary

British Engineering Services Group is seeking a Graduate Engineer for the South West England region. You will support delivery of structural inspections and surveys on civil assets, working alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience inspecting bridges, culverts, tunnels and related structures across the UK.

You will be part of a training-focused team with structured development, travel required, and opportunities to advance through competency programmes within a leading risk

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering and achieving a minimum 2:1.
• Graduate membership of a relevant institution such as ICE.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Willing to travel and work on site across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and other infrastructure assets across the UK.
• Support planning and delivery of structural inspections, investigations and surveys.
• Record asset condition information and identify defects on site.
• Produce clear technical reports to support engineering recommendations.
• Work safely using specialist inspection and access equipment.
• Develop technical skills through structured training and competency programmes.

Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges,tunnelsand culverts,providingreliable insight to help asset owners manage risk andmaintainsafety.

What will you be doing?

As a Graduate Engineer for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will support the delivery of structural inspections, investigations and surveys on a wide range of civil engineering assets. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain hands‑on experience inspecting and assessing structures including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, tunnels, gantries, lighting towers and masts.

You will also:

• Carry out inspections of bridges, tunnels, retaining walls and other infrastructure assets across the UK.
• Support the planning and delivery of structural inspections, investigations and surveys.
• Record asset condition information and identify defects accurately on site.
• Produce clear technical reports to support engineering recommendations.
• Work safely in a range of environments using specialist inspection and access equipment.
• Develop your technical skills through structured training, professional development and competency programmes.
