Job summary

XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, is seeking a Structures Inspector to ensure infrastructure is safe and fit for purpose. You will deliver Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys across highways and civil assets, using specialist access techniques and preparing inspection reports and CAD drawings.

The role requires travel nationwide, the ability to work at height and in confined spaces, and a UK driving licence; knowledge of DMRB and BICS familiarity is desirable;

Qualifications

• Experience in a Structures Inspection role.
• Knowledge/awareness of industry standards under the Design Manual for Road and Bridges (DMRB).
• Awareness of the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS).
• Full UK Driving license.
• Willingness to travel nationwide.
• Ability to work at height and in confined spaces.

Job description

XEIAD is a specialist engineering inspection consultancy delivering highâquality inspections and assessments on critical infrastructure assets. Using specialist access techniques such as rope access, diving and confined space working, their expert engineers inspect structures including bridges, tunnels and culverts, providing reliable insight to help asset owners manage risk and maintain safety.

What will you be doing?

As a Structures Inspector for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you will ensure our clients infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys on a wide range of infrastructure civil engineering assets across the highways sector. You will also:

• Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with the required technical standards/specifications
• Lead the safe and successful delivery of Structural Inspections, Investigations and Surveys
• Supporting pre-work planning activities including attendance at pre-site visits, liaison with landowners, agents or contractors, review and acceptance of proposed safe systems of work
• Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
• Work as part of a growing infrastructure projects team Experience in a Structures Inspection role
• Knowledge/awareness of industry standards under the Design Manual for Road and Bridges (DMRB).
• Familiarity with CS450 and the Inspection Manual for Highways Structures
• Awareness of the Senior or Inspector level qualification under the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS)
• Be prepared to travel and work nationwide
• The ability to work at height and within confined spaces
