Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Site Agent to lead day‑to‑day management on highway improvement projects in Suffolk. You will oversee safety, quality and environmental compliance, RAMS, ITPs, and NCR closeouts while coordinating multi‑disciplinary civils teams to deliver works on programme and budget.

The role requires strong leadership on drainage installations, RC structures, temporary works, and interface management with designers, clients and subcontractors, with a focus on securing

Qualifications

• Significant civils experience on major UK infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering deep drainage, earthworks, reinforced concrete works and utilities.
• Strong knowledge of temporary works (TWC preferred).
• Proven leadership in high‑risk construction environments.
• Experience in setting out and surveying principles.

Carrington West are seeking a Site Agent to be based on a highway's improvement projects in Suffolk.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day site management across multi-disciplinary civils packages.
• Oversee all safety, quality and environmental compliance including RAMS, ITPs, and NCR closeouts.
• Manage several site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to deliver works to programme and budget.
• Coordinate temporary works design and implementation, acting as TWC or TWS or working closely with the TWC/TWD teams.
• Conduct planning, sequencing and resource management, including programming support using Microsoft Project.
• Manage interfaces with designers, the client and subcontractors.
• Manage logistics of deliveries in a dynamic environment.
• Lead on drainage installations and RC structures such as RC slabs and bund lining.
• Drive quality assurance, inspections, test plans and documentation to a high standard.
• Support commercial control including variations, progress reporting, forecasting and risk management.

Experience:

• Significant civils experience on major UK infrastructure projects (e.g., HS2, large civils or highways schemes).
• Demonstrated delivery of deep drainage, earthworks, reinforced concrete works and utilities.
• Experience working on Sizewell C or similar high security projects is desirable.
• Strong temporary works knowledge (TWC preferred).
• Proven leadership in complex, high-risk construction environments.
• Experience and understanding of setting out and surveying principles.
• Strong background in reporting and record keeping.
