Job summary

Bimplus in Leiston, Suffolk, is seeking an experienced Works Manager / Site Agent for a major civil engineering scheme near Leiston/Sizewell. This long-term role involves leading earthworks, drainage, roads and other civils, with a focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.

The ideal candidate will have proven site management experience on major infrastructure projects, strong leadership and a solid civils background, including HER earthworks and heavy civils packages.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Works Manager or Site Agent within civil engineering.
• Strong background in earthworks and heavy civils.
• Experience on major infrastructure or highways projects.
• Experience with drainage, roads, groundworks and civils.
• SMSTS
• First Aid
• Appropriate CSCS card
• Strong leadership and site management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and construction activities.
• Coordinating engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams.
• Managing programme, productivity and sequencing of works.
• Overseeing earthworks, drainage, roads and civils.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with specifications.
• Managing RAMS, permits and site documentation.
• Monitoring quality and health & safety standards.
• Liaising with project management, engineering teams and client representatives.
• Producing progress reports and resolving site issues.

Candidates must have a strong background in civil engineering, with proven experience managing earthworks and heavy civils packages. This role would suit someone who has previously worked on major infrastructure, highways or large-scale ground engineering projects.
