Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Works Manager / Site Agent to join a major civil engineering scheme near Leiston, Suffolk, starting September. You will manage day-to-day site operations, earthworks, drainage and civils packages, and ensure works are delivered safely and to specification.

Applicants must have proven civils experience on large infrastructure or highways projects, strong leadership, CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid credentials, and the ability to coordinate engineers, subcontractors and

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Works Manager or Site Agent within civil engineering.
• Strong experience managing earthworks and heavy civils.
• Experience on major infrastructure or highways projects.
• CSCS card and robust health & safety credentials.
• SMSTS and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day site operations and construction activities
• Coordinating engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams
• Managing programme, productivity and sequencing of works
• Overseeing earthworks, drainage, roads and associated civils
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with specifications
• Managing RAMS, permits and site documentation
• Monitoring quality and health & safety standards
• Liaising with project management, engineering teams and client representatives
• Producing progress reports and resolving site issues

Candidates must have a strong background in civil engineering, with proven experience managing earthworks and heavy civils packages. This role would suit someone who has previously worked on major infrastructure, highways or large‑scale ground engineering projects.

• Managing day-to-day site operations and construction activities
• Coordinating engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and site teams

• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with specifications

Requirements

Candidates without a solid civils background will not be suitable for this position.
