Job summary

Site Agent - Water is being recruited to manage design, construction, commissioning and handover for non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects in the North West. The role focuses on delivering within time and tender estimates while maintaining health and safety for all involved and ensuring client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include enforcing safety and quality standards, implementing BMS throughout delivery, maintaining client relationships, planning and controlling project

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing construction projects, ideally within the water industry.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written communicator capable of working with clients and stakeholders.
  • Delivery-driven with ability to motivate multi-disciplinary teams to meet time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Knowledge of Construction Contracts NEC and/or IChemE; ability to negotiate and administer.
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
  • Knowledge of H&S legislation and duty holder relationships of CDM.
  • H&S qualification SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • Member of relevant professional body (e.g. APM, CMI, ICE).
  • Internal & external stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force.
  • Ensure that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, from tender handover to final completion.
  • Maintain good client relationships at all levels.
  • Ensure that sufficient trained personnel are available for the project and that they are aware of their individual responsibilities.
  • Plan projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities.
  • Ensure at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available.
  • Ensure that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified.
  • Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates.
  • Understand and implement the quality, safety and environmental policies and targets.

Position: Site Agent - Water

Location: United Utilities Region

Salary Guide: £65,000 - £75,000 Plus Car/Allowance & Excellent Package

Our client is a Tier 1 D&B Contractor operating predominantly in the water industry who have been awarded a programme of work to deliver non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects for United Utilities and they are recruiting for Site Agents to help deliver these projects throughout the North West.

Your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning and putting to work of contracts to ensure they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring client satisfaction.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in managing construction projects, ideally within the water industry
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction, commercial, or engineering related discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients, stakeholders, and end users.
  • Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC and/or IChemE, with ability to negotiate and administer
  • Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety
  • Good working knowledge of all relevant H&S legislation and in particular duty holder relationships of CDM.
  • H&S qualification SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Member of relevant professional body (e.g. APM, CMI, ICE)
  • Internal & external stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and tenacious under pressure.
