Job summary

Pure Tech Recruitment's client, a leading civil engineering contractor, requires a Site Agent to join the delivery team on a design-and-build water/wastewater framework in the Thames Valley.

You will work with Works Managers and site teams to deliver safely, on time and within budget on £5m–£100m projects; heavy emphasis on health, safety and contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience as Site Agent in civil engineering projects.
• Water and/or sewage sector experience preferred.
• H&S qualifications and CSCS card required.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day delivery of projects, coordinating with Works Managers, Project Managers and site teams to ensure safe, efficient and commercially sound schemes.
• Prepare all relevant documentation prior to installation phase.
• Carry out Risk Assessments and Method Statements for activities undertaken by directly employed resources.
• Lead and mentor engineering staff to ensure compliance with drawings, specs and controls.
• Assist Project Manager with cost control, value forecasting and programme production.

Job description

Our client is a leading main contracting Civil Engineering and Construction company, delivering design-and-build projects with clients in the water treatment sector across the UK.

They require a Site Agent to join their delivery team for a design and build water/wastewater treatment framework in the Thames Valley region with projects ranging from £5m - over £100m. You will be joining a growing collaborative team with a great reputation in the UK Civil Engineering industry.

As Site Agent, ideally you will have previous non-infrastructure water experience, but they could consider candidates from a heavy civil/construction design and build background who has worked on large scale projects.

Responsibilities:

• The Site Agent will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of projects, working closely with Works Managers, Project Managers, site teams and clients to ensure schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and commercially.


• Preparation of all relevant documentation prior to the commencement of the installation phase of contracts.


• Risk Assessments and Method Statements for activities being undertaken by directly employed resources.


• Manage, supervise and mentor engineering resource to ensure compliance with the contract drawings, specification and ensuring effective implementation of all engineering controls.


• Support the Project Manager with controlling costs, forecasting value and the production of programmes.

Experience required.

• Previous experience working as a Site Agent or similar within Civil Engineering.


• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.


• Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries (preferred).


• Strong civil engineering background with solid knowledge of health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.


• Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card, First Aid training and EUSR).


• Good understanding of commercial and contractual aspects.

Salary & Benefits
