Job summary

Catering is seeking two Site Engineers for a long-term civil engineering scheme near Leiston, Suffolk. Immediate start with extensive earthworks and GPS-enabled machine control work on a major civils project.

The role requires strong setting-out experience and a civil engineering qualification, with prior highway or infrastructure project exposure highly desirable. Temporary position in Leiston/IP16 area.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering qualification is required.
• Strong site engineering and setting-out experience.
• Significant earthworks experience is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of GPS surveying and machine control is advantageous.
• Experience on major civils, highways or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying large-scale earthworks.
• Working with GPS-enabled plant and machine control systems.
• Setting levels, profiles and formation levels.
• Producing as-built surveys and volume checks.
• Checking drawings and coordinating with construction teams.
• Maintaining accurate site engineering records and QA documentation.
• Assisting with technical documentation and site management.

Site Engineer Earthworks & GPS

Location: Leiston / Sizewell area, Suffolk
Duration: Approx. 42 weeks
Start: Immediate / ASAP

We are looking for 2 experienced Site Engineers with a strong earthworks and GPS background for a long-term civil engineering scheme near Leiston, Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with experience delivering large-scale earthworks, highways or infrastructure packages.

Duties will include:

• Setting out and surveying large-scale earthworks
• Working with GPS-enabled plant and machine control systems
• Setting levels, profiles and formation levels
• Producing as-built surveys
• Volume and level checks
• Checking drawings and coordinating with construction teams
• Maintaining accurate site engineering records
• Assisting with QA and technical documentation
• Working closely with earthworks supervisors and site management

Requirements:

• Strong Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer experience
• Significant earthworks experience
• Strong knowledge of GPS surveying and machine control
• Experience with Leica, Trimble or Topcon systems advantageous
• Major civils, highways or infrastructure experience
• Relevant civil engineering qualification
