Job summary

CarmichaelUK in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a major civil engineering project with a leading main contractor. You will manage tunnelling and underground works, coordinating site teams to deliver complex works safely and on programme.

You will lead on temporary works, RAMS, and construction documentation, liaising with Project Manager, engineering and planning teams while maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Site Agent on major civil engineering projects.
• Strong main contractor / Tier 1 contractor background.
• Experience in tunnelling, underground works, shafts, heavy civils or major infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and temporary works.
• Experience managing engineering teams and specialist subcontractors.
• Good commercial and programme awareness.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of major civil engineering works.
• Manage Sub Agents, Site Engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely and in line with programme.
• Manage subcontractor performance and interfaces between different work packages.
• Review and oversee RAMS, method statements, permits and construction documentation.
• Coordinate temporary works and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
• Lead short-term planning and monitor progress against the construction programme.
• Identify potential delays, technical issues and buildability concerns.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, engineering, commercial and planning teams.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and environmental compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent with a strong background in tunnelling, underground works, heavy civils or major infrastructure, who is confident managing complex construction activities and site teams.
