Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our Earthworks Team. You will report to the Project Manager and be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of earthworks, geotechnical and slope remediation projects across the Wessex Route (London to Exeter).

Based from Basingstoke or Blackfriars, this role requires regular travel to sites within the region, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, budgets and programme delivery while

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer on infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Experience delivering earthworks, geotechnical, slope stabilisation, soil nailing, embankment remediation or similar projects.
• A good understanding of Network Rail standards, processes and working practices.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience managing subcontractors, budgets and programme delivery.
• A focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• SMSTS qualification.
• CSCS card.
• PTS certification (desirable).
• Temporary Works Coordinator certification (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence.

As a key delivery partner on the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE), our Earthworks Team plays a crucial role in protecting and maintaining the railway infrastructure, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects including embankment stabilisation, soil nailing, slope remediation, retaining structures, and geotechnical asset renewals.

Due to an increase in workload, we are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join our Earthworks Team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and successful delivery projects across the Wessex Route - London to Exeter.

About you
