An exciting opportunity has arisen for aJunior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the friendly and dynamic team in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Frimley Park Hospital.
In this role, you will support the Senior Ward Sister/Charge Nurse by leading a team of nurses and taking charge of clinical shifts in their absence. This is a vital position within a busy department that cares for nearly 30,000 children annually, aged 0-17, presenting with a wide range of conditions from minor injuries to major trauma and resuscitation needs.
Our department is known locally and nationally for delivering consistently high-quality clinical care. We attribute this to our strong emphasis on staff training and professional development. You will benefit from access to a dedicated Practice Development Lead, a structured Staff Nurse Development Programme, and opportunities for both internal and external training--including emergency nurse skills, leadership development, ED specialist courses, and departmental simulation training (SIM).

Responsible for the assessment of care needs on a wide range of different paediatric conditions that present to the Emergency Department.
On a shift-by-shift basis, co-ordinate and monitor the progress of patients along their critical pathway, reporting any variance from the pathway.
Have the ability to co-ordinate a shift as the nurse in charge being responsible for managing a team and ensuring patients receive safe care.
Take named responsibility for co-ordinating individual patient's discharge From the Emergency Department.
Ensure that all nursing practice within the clinical area complies with Trust Nursing policies and procedures.
To comply at all times with the NMC Code of Conduct.
