We are looking to appoint passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated Band 6 Nurses who are ready to take the next step and develop their leadership and management skills.
If you have been working as a senior band 5 in an ED setting and have undertaken the ED and Mentorship Course, or are working towards mentorship and are ready to take the next step, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
There are exciting changes happening with the Emergency Department at Newham, and the wider Trust with expansion of our Same Day Emergency Care area, and the opening of our purpose-built ITU and level 2 Respiratory ward.
Newham Emergency Department serves a large diverse population and on average sees 400-500 patients a day, including acute medical patients, paediatrics, and patients in mental health crisis.
The post holder will act as a role model for junior team members in delivering high-quality patient-centered care. They will deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and support leadership and management of the department, focusing on clinical care and standards.
The post holder will work within the NMC Code, trust policies, guidance, and procedures to ensure safe working practice.
We offer a structured orientation and ongoing support and guidance. We follow the RCN National Emergency Nursing Framework competencies.
As well as supporting our staff’s professional development, we offer a Well-being space, outside areas including designated gardens, fitness classes including a running group, and wellbeing champions in each department.
