Major’s, the signature restaurant of Cambridge House in Mayfair, seeks a Captain/Head Waiter with extensive luxury hospitality experience. You will lead your section, guide guests through recommendations and ensure seamless, personalized service alongside the kitchen and wider restaurant team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Captain/Head Waiter or similar role in a luxury hotel or restaurant.
• Ability to lead by example and coordinate service in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with guests and colleagues.
• Professional and approachable manner with a strong commitment to hospitality.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays; right to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally, tailoring service to reflect occasions.
• Guide guests with knowledgeable recommendations on food, wine and beverages.
• Lead service within your section, coordinating timing and team delivery.
• Anticipate guest needs and manage special requests with discretion.
• Maintain exceptional standards of table preparation, mise en place, presentation, hygiene and food safety.
• Support and develop team members through sharing knowledge and constructive leadership.
• Collaborate with Culinary and Beverage teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist Restaurant Management with day-to-day operations and service standards.
• Contribute ideas to refine service rituals and shape Major’s identity.
