Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Team Leader - Signals & Telecoms to lead safety-critical inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal activities across railway signalling assets. The role combines technical signalling expertise with team leadership to ensure work is delivered safely and in line with Network Rail standards.

You will Direct daily team activities, maintain safety systems of work, and oversee signalling control systems, with days, nights, weekends and on-call duties in a permanent rail

Qualifications

  • Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
  • Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
  • SMTH competence or relevant signalling maintenance expertise.
  • NR signalling standards NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231 knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safe working behaviours and quality assurance.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification or experience, in a relevant discipline would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily team activities to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of work.
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate safety arrangements and safe systems of work.
  • Leading by example and promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Managing work quality, asset compliance and team competence.
  • Overseeing signalling control systems, track circuits, point machines and mechanical and electrical signalling equipment.
  • Ensuring vehicles, tools, plant, equipment and materials are safe and fit for purpose.
  • Producing operational, performance and compliance reports.
  • Working hands-on with the team when required and supporting the delivery of maintenance and renewal activities.
