Job summary

Network Rail in Birmingham is seeking a Team Leader for Signalling & Telecoms to manage a skilled team responsible for maintaining and repairing railway assets ensuring safe train operations. You will lead fault investigations, renewals and inspections across critical infrastructure.

The role requires experience with safe systems of work, delivering work safely and effectively, plus knowledge of signalling systems and relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Experience arranging safe systems of work.
• Organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Able to lead, motivate and direct a team.
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
• Hold and retain competencies relevant to this post.
• NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge.
• IRSE Faulting / Maintainer Licence requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a skilled team responsible for maintaining and repairing railway assets underpinning safe train operations.
• Organise inspections, maintenance activities, fault investigations and renewals.
• Work closely with managers and external partners to deliver safe, reliable railway outcomes.
