Job summary

NETWORK RAIL in Manchester is hiring a Team Leader for Signalling & Telecoms. The role combines electrical and mechanical engineering tasks, leading a close-knit outdoor team to keep the rail network safe and reliable for passengers and freight.

You will perform electrical measurements, troubleshoot mechanical components, and direct a team through inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal.
  • Ability to lead and direct a team.
  • Willingness to drive and operate vehicles as required.
  • Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work days, nights and weekends.
  • Safety-critical role requiring drug and alcohol testing and medical checks.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, organise and motivate a high performing team across inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal.
  • Establish and monitor safety arrangements and ensure safe work practices by staff and contractors.
  • Oversee quality checks and ensure assets are safe and compliant with standards.
