Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Team Leader - Signals & Telecoms to lead safety-critical inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal activities across railway signalling assets. The role combines technical signalling expertise with team leadership to ensure work is delivered safely and in line with Network Rail standards.

You will Direct daily team activities, maintain safety systems of work, and oversee signalling control systems, with days, nights, weekends and on-call duties in a permanent rail

Qualifications

  • Experience of organising and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
  • Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
  • SMTH competence or relevant signalling maintenance expertise.
  • NR signalling standards NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231 knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safe working behaviours and quality assurance.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification or experience, in a relevant discipline would be advantageous.

  • Producing operational, performance and compliance reports.
  • Working hands-on with the team when required and supporting the delivery of maintenance and renewal activities.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Team Leader - Signals & Telecoms to lead safety-critical inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal activities across railway signalling assets. This permanent role combines technical signalling expertise with team leadership to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Network Rail standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of relevant railway standards, procedures and instructions, including NR/L3/SIG/10663 and NR/L3/SIG/11231
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviours and quality assurance
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent qualification or experience, in a relevant discipline would be advantageous
  • Ability and willingness to drive vehicles where required by business needs
Working Arrangements:
  • Safety-critical role involving days, nights, weekends and on-call working
  • Compliance with location and business response time requirements
  • Subject to medical assessment and drug and alcohol testing
