Job summary

Network Rail Hereford is seeking a hands-on Team Leader in Signalling Maintenance to direct and motivate a high-performing crew, oversee safe delivery of work, and ensure compliance with industry standards and instructions.

The role involves rotating shifts, site-based outdoor work, and being on-call to support a 24/7 railway network. You will drive vehicles as required and bring clear leadership and signalling competence to the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in organizing and managing the safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
• Knowledge of signalling maintenance, inspection, fault-finding, and refurbishment techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures, and instructions.
• A clear and inspiring leader with a strong sense of direction.
• Possess or be working towards relevant Signalling competencies such as AHB, MCB, RCPL, HW and SMTH.
• Ability and willingness to drive vehicles as required.

Responsibilities

• From inspecting and fault-finding to maintenance and refurbishment work, you will play a hands-on role.
• You will ensure that everything is done efficiently and to the highest standards. Safety will be a priority.
• You will establish appropriate safety arrangements and ensure that both Network Rail staff and contractors follow safe working systems.
• Along the way, you will produce a range of essential reports.
