Job summary

Network Rail in the Central Route, covering Birmingham, seeks a Technician to inspect, maintain and repair signalling and telecoms infrastructure to keep trains moving safely and reliably.

You’ll lead a dedicated team, support the Team Leader, carry out fault-finding, renewal work and record-keeping while working in all weather across the network.

Applicants must live within a 60‑minute travel time of the advert location and hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in arranging and implementing safe systems of work.
• Ability to organise and control safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Ability to lead, motivate and direct a team to perform tasks safely.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair signalling and telecoms infrastructure to support safe railway operation.
• Carry out fault-finding, renewal activities and record-keeping.
• Support the Team Leader in organising work and guidance of colleagues.
