Job summary

Advance Training & Recruitment Services seeks an experienced Assistant Signalling & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer to support safe maintenance of signalling and telecoms assets in a busy railway environment. You will assist with engineering duties, monitor asset performance and contribute to compliance and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have relevant signalling/telecoms competence, railway maintenance experience and IRSE licence (where applicable).

Qualifications

• Relevant technical competence in Signalling and/or Telecoms engineering.
• Experience of railway maintenance delivery processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of safety, assurance and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of the operational railway environment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and engineering practices.
• Experience of fault investigation and rectification techniques.
• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical delivery team.
• HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the Signalling & Telecoms Maintenance Engineer in delivering maintenance engineering activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to delivery teams as required.
• Assist with monitoring asset performance, reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
• Support fault finding, failure investigations and rectification activities.
• Undertake technical inspections, surveys and condition assessments.
• Assist with assurance activities, including compliance checks and technical reviews.
• Maintain accurate technical records, databases and asset information systems.
• Support the review of work plans, method statements and engineering documentation.
• Ensure maintenance activities are delivered safely and in line with relevant standards and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with operational and engineering teams to improve asset performance and reliability.
