Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy town centre store in Jarrow. You will deter theft, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a visible presence.

You'll need a valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) and be able to obtain DBS/ BS7858 clearance. Right to work in the UK is required, and flexible weekend/evening shifts are offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding).
• Right to Work in the UK and ability to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance.
• Excellent observation, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating as required.
• Conduct searches in line with procedures when necessary.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Work with store management on security matters and assist customers and staff.
