Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SHW) Advisor to join the SHW Team. The role provides SHW and CDM guidance across Transmission projects, focusing on development, design, planning, pre-construction and advanced works, with a handover into delivery and construction.

The role requires applying SHW/CDM knowledge to manage risks, support design risk management, ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Safe Systems of Work and SHW procedures, and promote a healthy, safe

Qualifications

• Experience of applying SHW and CDM requirements across construction or infrastructure projects.
• Qualification in occupational safety, construction safety, CDM, design risk management or a related SHW discipline; NEBOSH Diploma or IOSH membership beneficial.
• Good working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and ability to provide practical advice to Client/Designer teams.
• Experience supporting design risk management, Designer Risk Assessments, Pre-Construction Information, or safe systems of work within a project environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive SHW and CDM advice to Transmission project teams and directorates, focusing on development, design, planning and pre-construction.
• Identify, assess and manage SHW risks throughout the project lifecycle with record-keeping and reviews.
• Assist duty holders to comply with CDM Regulations, Safe Systems of Work and SHW procedures.
• Coordinate development of strategies for interfaces, temporary works, site surveys and pre-construction activities.
• Complete assurance activities, monitor SHW performance and support incident reporting and learning.
