Job summary

SSE's SSEN Transmission is seeking a Safety and Health professional based in Scotland. You will report to the Regional Health and Safety Manager and provide proactive occupational health and safety guidance across projects, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation.

The role focuses on risk mitigation, CDM and Safe Systems of Work, incident reporting and continuous improvement, while building strong relationships with stakeholders and contributing to the Transmission SHW

Qualifications

• Graduate qualification in Occupational Safety (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma).
• IOSH membership preferred.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in safety and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Raise awareness to mitigate risk and promote practical safety understanding; help colleagues manage workplace health and safety risks with proportionate controls.
• Provide SHW and CDM advice and guidance to Transmission Onshore Capital Delivery teams and supporting directorates to meet UK legislation and CDM requirements.
• Assist Client/Principal Designer/Designer to comply with CDM and Safe Systems of Work while supporting safe ways of working across SSEN Transmission projects and sites.
• Complete assurance activities, support incident reporting and monitoring of health and safety performance; contribute to continuous improvement and a healthy, safe workplace.
• Develop trusted stakeholder relationships and contribute to the Transmission SHW Management System through collaboration, training and information sharing.
