Job summary

Norse Contracts Ltd is seeking experienced Shuttering Carpenters for a year-long, Saturday-working project at our Potters Bar site in Hertfordshire. Local applicants and those travelling from further afield are welcome.

Responsibilities include erecting formwork, reading drawings, and coordinating with steel fixers and groundworkers while maintaining safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is essential.
• Proven shuttering carpentry experience on similar projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Own hand tools required.
• Willingness to travel to Potters Bar.

Responsibilities

• Constructing and erecting formwork/shuttering for foundations, walls, columns and slabs.
• Reading and working from technical drawings to ensure accurate formwork installation.
• Measuring, cutting and fixing timber, plywood and system formwork (Doka, PERI).
• Ensuring formwork is level, plumb, secure and braced before concrete pours.
• Striking formwork safely after concrete has cured.
• Coordinating pours with steel fixers and groundworkers.
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance to shuttering equipment.
• Maintaining a safe, tidy and organised work area.
• Complying with site health and safety procedures.

Job Description

Norse Contracts are looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join us on a year-long project, working Saturdays, at our site in Potters Bar. We welcome applications from local operatives and those travelling from further afield.

Duties will include:

• Constructing and erecting formwork/shuttering for foundations, walls, columns and slabs
• Reading and working from technical drawings to ensure accurate formwork installation
• Measuring, cutting and fixing timber, plywood and system formwork (e.g. Doka, PERI)
• Ensuring formwork is level, plumb, secure and braced correctly before concrete pours
• Striking formwork safely once concrete has cured
• Working alongside steel fixers and groundworkers to coordinate pours
• Checking dimensions and tolerances against drawings throughout the processCarrying out repairs and maintenance to shuttering equipment
• Maintaining a safe, tidy and organised work area
• Complying with all site health and safety procedures

Requirements:
