Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting shuttering carpenters for the HS2 Old Oak Common Project in London. This directly employed role offers the chance to work on one of the UK’s landmark building schemes.

You will use timber and formwork systems, reading drawings and following safety procedures, with opportunities for training and career growth across a £8 billion pipeline of work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow drawings and written instructions.
• Capable of carrying out manual handling and physical tasks safely.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Happy working outdoors and at height.

Responsibilities

• Work safely with timber and standard formwork systems.
• Build and install formwork for columns, walls, beams, soffits, kickers, and pre-cast units.
• Follow approved safe working methods and site procedures.

Laing O'Rourke is looking for experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join our team on the landmark HS2 Old Oak Common Project.

£23.20 per hour

Key Duties

• Work safely with timber and standard formwork systems.
• Build and install formwork for:
  • Columns
  • Walls
  • Beams
  • Soffits
  • Kickers
  • Pre-cast units
• Follow approved safe working methods and site procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to work precisely to line and level with high tolerances.
• Able to read and follow drawings and written instructions.
• Capable of carrying out manual handling and physical tasks safely.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Happy working outdoors and at height.
