Job summary

First Bus in Lowestoft is recruiting a Shunter/Cleaner to support depot operations. The role involves moving vehicles, cleaning undercarriages and exteriors, and ensuring vehicles are prepped for shifts. A valid UK driving license is required, with training provided for cleaning tasks.

The position offers 39 hours per week, with shifts 4pm–00:30am, five days over seven, at NR32 1UZ. Compensation is paid at £13.41 per hour, including benefits and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and vehicle washing desirable.
• Training will be provided if new to bus washing.

Responsibilities

• Fuelling and shunting vehicles around the depot for shift readiness.
• Wash vehicles underneath and exterior using a pressure washer.
• Check oil and water levels and top up as required.
• Record work details on sheets/records and keep areas clean.
• Assist with general site maintenance as needed.

About The Role – Shunter/Cleaner

You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of Cleaners, Engineers and maintenance staff that look after our fleet of vehicles at our Lowestoft depot? If yes, this Shunter/Cleaner position could be just the job for you! The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

• Fuelling and shunting vehicles around the depot ready for shift or next clean
• Carry out vehicle under chassis washing, including exterior cleaning using a pressure washer
• To ensure that the oil and water and top ups are carried out as required
• Carry out other cleaning duties and general site maintenance as and when required
• To record details of all work done and accurately complete any necessary sheets/record cards

Location: Lowestoft - NR32 1UZ

Working Hours: 39 hours per week – shifts 4pm-00:30am 5 days over 7

Pay Rate: £13.41 per hour

About You

You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role Do you have a flexible approach to working hours? Do you have previous cleaning experience? Previous experience with pressure washers and/or bus washing would be beneficial, however training will be provided
