Job summary

First Bus is seeking a dedicated Nightshift Bus Cleaner/Shunter at Abbey Lane Depot, Leicester. You will be responsible for interior and exterior vehicle cleaning, including a monthly deep clean, and for shunting and parking vehicles for the next day’s service.

A valid UK driving license is essential, with full training provided for depot duties. The role requires flexibility for night hours (21:00–05:30) with a 39-hour minimum week, 5 days over 7, and overtime paid at the stated rate.

Qualifications

• You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Previous cleaning experience
• Bus driving experience would be beneficial, a PCV license is not required as you will not be driving buses outside of the depot grounds

Responsibilities

• Interior and exterior vehicle cleaning duties including a monthly deep clean routine across all vehicles
• Vehicle under chassis and wheel cleaning using a pressure washer
• Fuelling/charging vehicles when required
• Shunting and parking vehicles ready for the next days service (full training provided)
• Recording details of all work completed accurately

Position: Bus Cleaner/Shunter - Nightshift

Location: Abbey Lane Depot, Leicester, LE4 0DA

Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of Cleaners, Engineers and Maintenance staff that look after our fleet of vehicles at our Leicester depot? If yes, this Bus Cleaner/Shunter - Nightshift position could be just the job for you!

Key Details:

• £15.51 per hour
• £31,454 per annum
• Overtime paid at £17.57 per hour
• 39 hours minimum per week
• 5 days over 7
• 21:00pm-05:30am (with an early finish one shift per week)
• Full time & permanent
