Job summary

FirstGroup plc, a leading UK transport provider, is seeking a Bus Cleaner/Shunter for the night shift at Abbey Lane Depot in Leicester. You will join a team responsible for cleaning and preparing vehicles for the next day’s service.

The role is full-time and permanent, working 39 hours per week, 21:00 to 05:30, with five days over seven. A valid UK driving licence is required, and prior cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in interior and exterior vehicle cleaning.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Bus driving experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Interior and exterior vehicle cleaning duties including a monthly deep clean routine across all vehicles.
• Vehicle under chassis and wheel cleaning using a pressure washer.
• Fuelling/charging vehicles when required.
• Shunting and parking vehicles ready for the next day's service (full training provided).
• Recording details of all work completed accurately.

Position: Bus Cleaner/Shunter - Nightshift

Location: Abbey Lane Depot, Leicester, LE4 0DA

Do you want to be part of our dedicated team of Cleaners, Engineers and Maintenance staff that look after our fleet of vehicles at our Leicester depot? If yes, this Bus Cleaner/Shunter - Nightshift position could be just the job for you!

Key Details:

• £15.51 per hour
• £31,454 per annum
• Overtime paid at £17.57 per hour
• 39 hours minimum per week
• 5 days over 7
• 21:00pm-05:30am (with an early finish one shift per week)
• Full time & permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Interior and exterior vehicle cleaning duties including a monthly deep clean routine across all vehicles

About You:

• You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role
• Do you have a flexible approach to working hours?
• Do you have previous cleaning experience?
• Bus driving experience would be beneficial, a PCV license is not required as you will not be driving buses outside of the depot grounds
