Job summary

Age UK in Pickering is recruiting a Shop Supervisor to lead daily retail operations and deliver a warm, welcoming shopping experience for customers. You will deputise for the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in their absence, helping to maximise sales and keep the shop tidy and inviting.

The role is 13 hours per week, including Sundays, with responsibilities spanning cash handling, stock rotation, displays, and friendly service. We value teamwork, reliability and commitment to Age UK’s cause.

Qualifications

• Experience in working in a customer facing role.
• Experience of cash handling.
• The ability to work as part of an effective team.
• Ability to lone work when needed.
• Ability to fulfil the stock-handling requirements of the role, including moving items weighing up to 10kg, with reasonable adjustments where needed.
• Commitment to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent retail service and ensure every customer has a great shopping experience.
• Maximise shop sales and profits and deputise for the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in their absence.
• Support with sales, stock rotation, organising displays and store tidying.
• Represent Age UK in a professional manner and reflect its core values.
