Job summary

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is seeking Shop Managers to cover vacancies in its charity shops across Cambridgeshire on ad-hoc shifts. You will be responsible for running the shop, promoting the charity’s image to customers and ensuring stock is well managed, secure and neatly presented.

The role may involve manual handling, lone working and requires a good general education with strong verbal, numerical and written skills. Previous retail experience is preferred.

Our shops play a vital role in raising the essential funds for our Charity, we are currently looking for Shop Managers who would be interested in ad-hoc shifts to join our bank services covering vacant shifts in our charity shops across Cambridgeshire!

Each shop is its own little treasure trove and unique community hub, with our brilliant shop staff and volunteers keeping donations sorted, tidied and flying off the shelves.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the running of the shop to promote and enhance the image of our charityto all customers. The role will have responsibilityfor the security of the shop premises, stock management and making arrangementsfor opening and locking up at either end of the trading day.

Due to the nature of this role, there will be an element of manual handling and physical activity involved. Lone working may also be required from time to time. Candidates are required to be physically capable (with reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates) of meeting these job requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have a good general education with excellent verbal, numerical and written skills. Previous experience of working in a similar retail environment will also be required.

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata'd for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, may we be able to negotiate on this.
