As Shop Manager, you’ll lead and inspire a team to create a thriving, customer-focused and commercially successful shop. You’ll drive sales both in-store and through online platforms, ensuring we make the most of every donation and deliver an exceptional experience for our customers and donors.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop, from merchandising and stock management to achieving sales targets, managing takings and maximising Gift Aid and EPOS opportunities. Working closely with the Retail Area Manager, you’ll develop and deliver a shop plan, using data, customer insight and creative ideas to grow sales, engage the local community and raise awareness of North Yorkshire Hospice Care.
You’ll also play a key role in building a strong and motivated team, supporting recruitment, training, development and performance, while creating an inclusive environment where employees and volunteers can thrive.
You’ll be an empowering people manager with experience of working in charity, commercial or independent retail, ideally at Assistant Manager level or above. You’ll be confident working to targets and KPIs, with strong sales, customer service and merchandising skills and a passion for delivering results.
You’ll be a confident communicator and organised, commercially minded individual who can spot opportunities to increase sales, improve stock management and make the most of online and in-store selling opportunities. Experience using an EPOS system and managing or leading teams, including volunteers, is essential.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced and varied environment, be passionate about sustainable retail and have a good understanding of current retail trends and the marketplace.
