Job summary

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is seeking Shop Managers to cover ad-hoc shifts across Cambridgeshire charity shops. You will run the shop, promote the charity's image and work with volunteers to keep donations sorted and on display.

The role involves stock management, opening/locking up, and some physical work. Candidates should be physically capable and have good communication, numeracy and writing skills; prior retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have good general education and excellent verbal, numerical and written skills.
• Previous experience in a similar retail environment is required.
• Ability to work with volunteers and staff in a charitable shop setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily shop operations to promote the charity's image to customers.
• Oversee stock management and maintain shop presentation.
• Arrange opening and locking up procedures and ensure shop security.
• Willingness to perform manual handling as part of the role.

Job description

Our shops play a vital role in raising the essential funds for our Charity, we are currently looking for Shop Managers who would be interested in ad-hoc shifts to join our bank services covering vacant shifts in our charity shops across Cambridgeshire!

Each shop is its own little treasure trove and unique community hub, with our brilliant shop staff and volunteers keeping donations sorted, tidied and flying off the shelves.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the running of the shop to promote and enhance the image of our charity to all customersThe role will have responsibilityfor the security of the shop premises, stock management and making arrangements for opening and locking up at either end of the trading day.

Due to the nature of this role, there will be an element of manual handling and physical activity involved. Lone working may also be required from time to time. Candidates are required to be physically capable (with reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates) of meeting these job requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have a good general education with excellent verbal, numerical and written skills. Previous experience of working in a similar retail environment will also be required.

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata'd for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, may we be able to negotiate on this.
