Job summary

St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Shop Assistant Manager for Forest Hall, working 16 hours per week across two days. The role contributes to charity retail across the hospice’s community, with a welcoming approach for customers and supporters.

The position is physical and rewarding, with a DBS check required and the right to work in the UK. The closing date is 29 October 2026 and interviews will be arranged accordingly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of charity retail is NOT essential.
• You will enjoy working in a customer facing environment such as customer service, retail or front of house.
• Be people focused and wish to hold a key role within the shop team.
• The role is physical, demanding and very rewarding as our shop teams are the link between the Hospice and our supporters and local community.
• This role is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).
• You must have existing right to work in the UK for this role.

Salary: £24,853 per annum full time which is £10,604 pro rata for 16 hours per week

Job Type: 16 hours per week. Hours to be worked over two days Monday to Sunday
