Principal Recruitment Consultant focusing on Legal, Insurance and P&I opportunities

Are you a senior qualified solicitor that is looking for progression into Partnership?

A well-known law firm is seeking a shipping solicitor to advise on disputes.

The firm offers expert legal advice to commercial marine and offshore operators and their insurers (P&I, hull, and machinery). The team handles both contentious and non-contentious matters, providing comprehensive legal services in the marine market.

• Shipping – General: The team advises on liability and coverage issues such as carriage of goods, time and voyage charterparties, cargo sale and supply contracts, and port and terminal liabilities. They handle disputes from routine matters like laytime and demurrage to more complex cases involving cargo conditions and emerging sectors like renewables and energy.
• Cargo and Vessel Operations: Disputes include overloading/discharging operations, cargo shortages, contamination, collisions, and groundings on behalf of clients in various forums including LMAA, LCIA, ICC, English courts, and mediation.
• Marine Contracts – Commercial/Transactional: The team handles vessel sale agreements, charterparties, port terminal contracts, supply agreements, and logistics frameworks. They also advise on BIMCO standard forms, covering issues like cyber risks, sanctions, and war risks.
• Yachts & Pleasure Craft: With expertise in the yacht and luxury asset market, the team provides advice on yacht management, ownership structures, sale and purchase, and related disputes.
• Personal Injury: The team specializes in fatal accident claims, crew injuries, and related losses, including Coroner’s Court inquests and occupational disease claims.
• Ports & Terminals: They advise port and terminal operators, authorities, and marinas on contentious and non-contentious matters, including collisions, unsafe ports, pollution, and HSE interventions.
