Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Ship Manager, Marine Technical Operations to drive an ongoing engagement between the shoreside Marine Technical Operations organization and the senior Marine Management team onboard their vessels.

The Ship Manager is responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operation, strategic thinking, and cross‑department collaboration to meet the company’s goals and objectives on a global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years of experience with a shipping company or major cruise line.
• Experience as a Chief Engineer within a major cruise line is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of assigned vessels.
• Maintain productive dialog between shoreside Marine Technical Operations and senior Marine Management onboard vessels.
• Oversee daily operational and financial management with respect to OPEX, repairs, consumables, and hotel technical costs.
• Implement and monitor safety and environmental compliance initiatives.
• Regularly review fleet performance metrics and drive corrective actions.
• Oversee the guarantee process and claims handling with yards for assigned vessels.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders across departments.
• Participate in special fleet projects to ensure timely and successful completion.
