Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking a Manager, Maritime Technical - Underwater Systems in Weybridge, UK. You will serve as the technical authority for podded propulsion and related underwater systems fleetwide, coordinating repairs, maintenance, and upgrades across the fleet.

The role requires close collaboration with vessel leadership, shipyards, vendors and internal Marine Technical Operations teams, with occasional travel to vessels and yards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent maritime qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of electric propulsion and underwater mechanical systems (ABB Azipod platforms).
• Experience in fleet technical management, dry-dock execution, and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for underwater mechanical systems fleetwide.
• Provide expert guidance and high-level troubleshooting support to shoreside and onboard technical teams.
• Monitor propulsion system performance using diagnostics and condition-monitoring tools.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee repairs, maintenance, overhauls, and dry-dock activities.
• Lead root-cause investigations and fleetwide lessons-learned processes.
• Deliver first- and second-level support to ensure safe, reliable vessel operations.
• Coordinate underwater system projects with Ship Managers and shipboard management.
• Provide technical training and operational best practices to shipboard engineering teams.
