Job summary

Gate Gourmet is seeking a Shift Team Leader for Make & Pack in the United Kingdom. You will lead the Make & Pack shift, drive performance, and ensure product quality and safety while meeting targets and delivering high-level service.

You will manage a fast-paced team, develop staff, and ensure HACCP and health & safety standards are maintained. The role includes structured 4 on 4 off shifts, training, meals, and benefits.

Qualifications

• You've led a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Shift/staff management experience — food manufacturing sector a big plus
• At least 2 years of relevant operational experience

What you’ll be leading in Make & Pack:

• Packing food liners to exact specification
• Creating precise sample and product builds across all classes
• Running temperature, quality, and product date checks
• Sealing flight canisters and trolleys, recording numbers accurately
• Marshalling flights to Dispatch bays in the correct stowing order

Your mission as Team Leader:

What you bring:

Education: Degree-level ideal, but not essential — we care more about what you can do!

Experience:

• You've led a team in a fast-paced environment
• Shift/staff management experience — food manufacturing sector a big plus
• At least 2 years of relevant operational experience

Skills:

• Food hygiene, security, and H&S know-how preferred
• Aviation security awareness a bonus
• Sharp eye for detail and accuracy
• Solid IT skills — MS Office; advanced Excel is a real plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts
