Job summary

gategroup is seeking a Warehouse Operative for Nights/Loaders on a fixed-term contract. The role runs a 4 on 4 off shift from 4PM to 3:30AM with overtime at 1.5x and benefits including free meals, free uniform, life insurance, pension, and on-site parking. Start dates asap subject to references. Must have right to work in the UK and pass CRC.

You'll load/unload goods, ensure loads are secure, and maintain safety and quality standards while supporting the team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Good standard of English both written and verbal.
• Basic hygiene knowledge required.
• Experience in production/manufacturing/stores environment preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload food and equipment as directed by the allocator, ensuring no customer complaints.
• Distribute loads securely and sign for them at collection.
• Comply with Gate Gourmet and customer security procedures.
• Follow health and safety and hygiene requirements, using correct lifting techniques.
• Drive a van as required and directed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Comply with Gate Gourmet procedures and protect company assets.
• Report accidents and take preventative action.

Job Overview

Regular roster of 4 on 4 off shift, availability for 4PM - 3:30AM, Overtime rate of 1.5, Free onsite parking, complimentary meals and refreshments, free uniform, free life insurance, company sick pay, pension scheme. Start dates ASAP Subject to referencing.

As a Warehouse Operative/Loader you will support the operations by completing all assigned tasks in a timely manner while ensuring quality and meeting the required targets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• To load and unload food and equipment as directed by the allocator, ensuring that no customer complaints are received.
• To ensure that loads are distributed securely, and to be responsible for any load carried, and ensure it is signed for at the point of collections.
• To fully comply with and be responsible for all gate gourmet and customer security procedures and process.
• To adhere to all Heath safety and hygiene requirements, including using the correct kinetic lifting and carrying techniques.
• Drive a van as and when required / directed.
• Carry out daily checks of the vehicle and report any defects using appropriate forms.
• Fully comply with and to be responsible for all Gate Gourmet and customer security procedures and property.
• To report all accidents and take the necessary preventative action.
• To be able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally at all levels.
• To ensure that relevant entries are made in the diary log and that the log is checked at the beginning of each shift.
• To be totally flexible within the role.
• Carry out quality checks with improvement action when required.
• Assist in follow-up of Quality Assurance/Health & Safety reports.
• To take on any other duties as and when required.

Work Experience

• Good standard of English both written and verbal
• Working knowledge of of Basic Hygiene
• Ideally some experience in a production/manufacturing/stores environment
• Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

Skills & Knowledge

• Good understanding of English both reading and writing
• Positive attitude to work
• Able to work to tight deadlines

Previous experience in a catering or hospitality role is desirable but not essential. You must be able to work shifts and be keen to learn. In addition to job - related training, you will develop your skills in team work, time management, multi-tasking, communication and attention to detail.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history. For anytime spent outside the uk exceeding 6 months, you must be able to provide a CRC (Criminal Record Check) for that country.
