Job description

We are working with a Market Leading Product Manufacturer to recruit a Production Shift Supervisor. As a market leader in their field, they are looking for a Production Shift Supervisor who will be an asset to their team, be an effective and proactive team member, and work towards company expectations and targets. The role involves taking manufacturing operations to the next level for production, planning, quality, H&S, and overall efficiency. Key Responsibilities of the Shift Production Supervisor

• Lead manufacturing/production operations, covering both automated and labour-intensive processes, with an aim to automate processes where possible
• Provide prompt support in the event of plant breakdowns
• Ensure consistent quality by monitoring production output and rejecting items that do not meet standards
• Develop and promote lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Six Sigma, VSM, SMED, TPM, and OEE across manufacturing operations
• Identify opportunities to further automate manufacturing processes, maintain records, and report to the Shift Manager, including implementing KPIs across the factory

Qualifications and Experience for a Shift Production Supervisor

• Previous experience in a senior production/manufacturing leadership role, e.g., Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Shift Operations Manager, Shift Production Manager, or Production Lead
• Leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build, motivate, develop, and improve teams
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment, practically applying continuous improvement tools and techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma
• Ideally, L3 ILM Leadership/Management qualification, though not essential
