Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to cover days shifts in a high-spec commercial building in Central London. You will perform hands-on maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, diagnose faults quickly, and ensure smooth operation of critical plant assets.

The role demands strong technical knowledge, effective communication, and a proactive approach to safety and quality standards in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering with Level 3 certification.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance, ideally critical environments.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works efficiently.
• Maintain mechanical and electrical systems hands-on.
• Diagnose and resolve plant faults to minimise downtime.
• Conduct quality checks on work, documentation and housekeeping.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and job sheets.

Mechanical Engineer (Days Only) – FM Service Provider – Blackfriars, Central London – £53,000 per annum

A leading facilities management service provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join a prestigious, high-spec commercial office building in the heart of the City of London.

This modern, multi-tenant development offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and is ideally located near major financial institutions and excellent transport links. This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for a technically strong engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, critical environment. You will be fully involved in day-to-day engineering tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of all building services.

Working Hours

7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

(Days Only - 2s & 3s) Panama Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive works efficiently via the maintenance system
• Carry out hands-on maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems
• Diagnose and resolve plant faults quickly to minimise downtime
• Conduct regular quality checks on work, documentation, and housekeeping standards
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts

Requirements

• Fully qualified in Mechanical Engineering (recognised certification) Level 3 Required
• Proven experience in commercial building maintenance, ideally within critical environments (e.g. banking, corporate, or blue-chip sites)
• Strong mechanical knowledge with multi-skilled capabilities
• Experience working with HVAC, chillers, pumps, AHUs, and building plant systems
• Excellent communication skills
