Job summary

Tata Steel UK is hiring a Shift Mechanical Fitter to join a busy heavy‑industrial site in Corby (NN17). You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance on plant equipment within a multi‑skilled team.

The role requires apprentice training or Level 3 qualification, experience with MIG/STICK welding, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and familiarity with SAP PM or similar CMMS. You will work rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or hold a Level 3 qualification (BTEC, C&G or NVQ3).
• Experience with MIG and stick welding.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in reactive and preventive maintenance.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team or alone.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Maintain machinery to maximise efficiency and uphold HSE standards.
• Record all maintenance activities in the site MMS.
• Interpret mechanical drawings.
• Manage engineering spares to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and asset performance.
