Job summary

Tata Steel UK in Wednesfield is seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve highly automated lines on a multi-disciplinary shift. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and ensure plant safety.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in electrical discipline or equivalent, hands-on maintenance experience, and a proactive, independent approach within a shift team. Experience in automated production is a plus.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in electrical discipline or equivalent
• Hands-on electrical maintenance and fault finding experience
• Proactive, able to work independently and as part of a shift team
• Good understanding of health and safety in manufacturing
• Experience in high-volume or automated production is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults and get equipment back online quickly
• Deliver planned preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime
• Record work and parts used in Pirana and keep job histories up to date
• Spot recurring issues, feed into root cause fixes and support continuous improvement
• Champion safe working and good housekeeping across the line
