Job description

Shift Mechanical Fitter

3-week rotating pattern - days & nights (06:00 to 18:00 & 18:00 to 06:00). No Sunday work & 1 in 3 Saturdays.

Location: Burton upon Trent

Salary: £47,598 (inclusive of 20% shift allowance) + benefits

Role Overview

The Maintenance Fitter provides engineering support and maintenance services at Burton manufacturing site, focusing on planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response on process equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Manage maintenance within the departmental budget.
  • Ensure availability of spare parts.
  • Develop and implement maintenance processes.
  • Meet site KPIs such as H&S, production TME, CI & 8D.
  • Complete maintenance schedules as per plan.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Apply lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with central engineering and EHSQ teams.
  • Perform additional tasks within capability as needed.
Required Skills
  • Mechanical or electrical maintenance background (City & Guilds).
  • Core workshop skills in mechanical/electrical maintenance.
  • Experience with CMMS, ideally SAP - PM Module.
  • Experience in contractor control systems.
  • Experience working with continuous improvement initiatives.
