The Job
The Platform Engineer designs, builds, and maintains the Simpro platform infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
You will automate the testing, deployment and configuration management processes, along with selecting appropriate hardware and software components, configuring the networking and storage resources, and creating security policies.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Lambda, NoSQL, SQS. ASG, EC2, EKS, RDS, and Cost Optimisation.
- Write and manage Terraform code to automate platform deployment and management.
- Be knowledgeable about Internal Developer Platform and contribute to create IDP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the successful deployment of applications using CI/CD tools.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 availability and promptly address any platform issues.
- Utilise monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch to monitor and ensure system health.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on relevant industry trends.
- Manage an array of HashiCorp suite products.
- Foster a culture of curiosity and innovation within the team
What You’ll Bring
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, Node, Perl, PHP, Go, etc
- Cloud computing expertise
- Working knowledge of networking concepts
- Tertiary degree qualified in Computer Science, Software Engineering (or similar)
- AWS Certification (preferred)
