Job summary

EQUANS is recruiting a Shift Mechanical Engineer to join our team on the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals contract. The role is full-time, 40.25 hours per week, with a 2 days on (7am-7pm) and 2 nights on (7pm-7am) rota followed by 4 days off.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ levels 2 and 3, recognised apprenticeship in engineering
• Experience in maintenance environments
• Knowledge of ventilation, pumps, boilers, medical gases and water systems

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases and building services
• Respond to reactive jobs, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in line with standards
• Answer BMS alerts during night shifts and coordinate with the team
• Assess issues, allocate tasks, and complete necessary documentation
• Ensure handover records are provided to Helpdesk at shift start
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance as per programme
