Equans is looking for a Shift Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40.25 hours per week, based on a shift pattern that involves working days and nights. On offer is a salary banding of £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience plus a shift allowance and benefits package.
The role is vital to ensure that the mechanical systems, equipment and plant within the estate are maintained to a high standard and that they can operate effectively to enable the Trust to deliver their services from a compliant and reliable facility.
Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to complete diagnostic, fault finding and repair to complex mechanical systems in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
Obtain Competent Person status following training and instruction for systems such as specialist ventilation system, complex water systems and medical gas installations
Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to services across site on various aspects of the building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training
Minimise penalty deductions by responding in a timely manner to all maintenance issues in accordance with the requirements of the Contract
Assist in carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works
On offer is a salary banding of £32,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience plus a shift allowance and benefits package, which includes;
Recognised apprenticeship in relevant engineering discipline to City & Guilds level
Post Apprenticeship experience within a maintenance environment
Previously worked within a maintenance environment
Good knowledge and understand of a range of complex mechanical systems including but not limited to ventilation, pumps, compressors, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, domestic hot and cold-water systems
Previous Competent Person/Authorised Person experience including ventilation and/or pressure systems (Desirable)
Previously worked within a healthcare maintenance environment (Desirable)
Knowledge of electrical systems (Desirable)
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
