We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, positive, and friendly person to join the team as a Shift Manager (PM shift) at our Doncaster site.

The Role

Working as part of a small, dedicated team our Shift Manager is vital within the business, accountable for driving process and efficiency through the distribution centre whilst maintaining a positive impact on customer experience. Accountable for engaging and motivating the workforce through effective performance management and development. Achievement of site measurements and SLA’s, making sure that our employees are trained adequately and adhering to Health and Safety within the workplace whilst meeting customer demands, ensuring our customers receive their orders on time and with the care and attention that they have come to expect from our brand over the years. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven individual who is passionate about delivering consistently high standards.

As an experienced people manager, you will be used to working with different characters and understand what motivates individuals to be the best that they can be. You will drive your team of Managers to perform to the highest standards to achieve challenging efficiency targets, enable them to up-skill the operational teams and address any performance challenges, as well as developing your team to excel in all they do.

Our Warehouse is a fast-paced operation so there will often be a need for you to use your initiative, drawing upon your previous management experience to make sound operational decisions. You will be a key point of contact for ensuring that there is sufficient resource to effectively meet Operational demands and for ensuring that any process changes are effectively and efficiently delivered to both new and existing employees. Having a passion for Making a Difference and creating a great first impression for new employees is essential.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Lead a team of direct reports and operatives
  2. Effective resource planning to meet customer ordering patterns
  3. Ensure a proactive response to customer and business needs
  4. Drive the delivery of the required KPI’s to meet DC operational plans
  5. Management of holidays and absence
  6. Individual Performance monitoring daily
  7. Effective Performance and Development plans for all direct reports including succession
  8. Identify and meet all operational training requirements
  9. Monthly one-to-one meetings with all direct reports
  10. Management of people issues in relation to performance and behaviours
  11. Lead the team in a positive can-do way to deliver high levels of employee engagement and performance
  12. Daily collaboration with other shift managers to ensure effective handover
  13. Responsible for ensuring process adherence including a focus on quality standards
  14. Adherence with the Quality System to meet the requirements of the businesses and our customers’ needs and accreditation’s
  15. Responsible for ensuring appropriate actions are taken to promote Health & Safety in the workplace
  16. Responsible for taking appropriate actions to ensure good housekeeping across all areas
  17. Demonstrate safe working practice and any site-specific procedures, observing, coaching and challenging Operatives
